Report on the BAPAA 2014 AGM

BAPAA AGM14  BAPAA AGM 2

BAPAA have held their 11th Annual General Meeting on 13 November at the International Students House, London.

The vast majority of members, 27 of our 30 member agencies, were in attendance.

A number of important topics were discussed at great length and how BAPAA will deal with them.

The au pair industry in the UK has been in the spotlight over the last month from a recent research study into au pairing that was funded by the Economic & Social Research Council.

Another important topic is that the UK government have made changes again to the guidelines on holiday entitlement for an au pair. Their website does now state that an au pair is not entitled to any paid holidays. BAPAA as an association all agree that we will still encourage host families to pay the 20 days per year holiday and that we will still recommend this on our agency and association websites.
