CAPAA Welcomes Anna Prasad as its New Chair

The Cultural Au Pair Association of Australia (CAPAA) is pleased to announce its new Chair, Anna Prasad. Anna has been working in the Au pair sector for close to 5 years and is currently managing AIFS’ inbound Au pair program.

Anna says “I am honoured to take on this role as CAPAA’s new Chair, as the Au pair industry gets back on track after the pandemic. It’s an exciting time for cultural exchange, Au pairs and the industry in general. I also would like thank Jackie Rylance for her dedication during the last few years, in what was a rather tricky time for all the CAPAA member agencies. She has done an excellent job in steering us through to the other side.”

With Au pairs numbers returning to pre-Covid levels, Anna is forecasting a busy year ahead for the Australian Au pair industry.

“While the landscape may have changed, there is still a huge demand for Au pairs, especially to address childcare shortages across the country. As the needs for working parents are ever evolving, and work from home guidelines continue to change, the need for that additional support in the home and the flexibility an Au pair can provide are a big driver in reinvigorating this space.”

Australia remains a great au pair destination with shorter program options and the ability to travel for an extended period after placement.

Anna says “Australia is a great destination for any young person considering a cultural exchange for the first time. I look forward to promoting CAPAA and our Australian Au pair programs in 2023.

The IAPA community congratulates Anna on her new role and wishes her the best of luck for the challenges and work ahead. We will be happy to continue to support Anna and the Australian Association in the future.
